K-12 Experience
  • Has taught inquiry science for preK-12 and adults for nearly 20 years to over 30,000 students in over 1,000 locations from classroom to field and camp. Has developed over 500 hours of classroom-tested curricula in science inquiry. Developed a teacher's kit and unit for teaching evolution and the scientific method.
  • Portland Saturday Academy - instructor for science classes of all disciplines; developed over 100 hours of curricula in the topics of Chemistry, Forensic Science, Physics of Light, and Wacky World of Science (a unit specifically targeting students attending schools with a high number of students in the achievement gap, to introduce them to the wonder of science, and then engage them in scientific inquiry).
  • Oregon Museum of Science and Industry - outreach science specialist for grades PreK-12 and professional development for teachers;
  • National Wildlife Federation - naturalist for grades 4-8;
  • Camp Fire USA - nature and science specialist for grades K-12 and adult volunteers.
